I don’t want to…

I don’t wanna write this poem,

But still here I am sitting at home writing this poem,

I didn’t wanna go to school,

But I did,

I didn’t wanna go to the deep end in the pool,

But I did,

I didn’t wanna say goodbye,

I didn’t wanna try,

I didn’t wanna take the training wheels off my bike,

I didn’t wanna go out and fly that kite,

But I did,

I didn’t wanna take that class,

I didn’t wanna mow the grass,

I didn’t wanna learn how to run fast,

But I did,

I didn’t wanna get my heart broken,

I didn’t wanna use my last token,

I didn’t wanna say I was jokin',

I didn’t wanna cry over grandpa but I was sulkin’,

I didn’t wanna pick that fight,

I didn’t wanna take the last bite,

I didn’t wanna get on that flight,

I didn’t wanna say goodnight,

But I did,

I didn’t wanna play little league,

I didn’t wanna step up and lead,

I didn’t wanna read,

I didn’t wanna plant the seed and let it grow,

But I did all this and more,

But I didn’t do it all just for me,

But for other people to see,

How great doing things you don’t wanna do,

Can make you be.

The Hero's Journey- Film Analysis

FINDING NEMO (a prime movie)
Ordinary World- Marlin and Coral live in a sea anemone and are waiting for their 400 eggs to hatch. A shark eats Coral. and all of the eggs, except one, which becomes Nemo. Marlin has become scared of everything and worries about Nemo. Nemo has a "lucky fin", which is damaged. Because of his fin, he can't swim very well.
Call to Adventure- Nemo is caught by the men in the boat and Marlin has to get him back. 
Refusal of the Call-  Marlin is afraid of the sea, the boat (the kids call it the butt) and the drop off, but he has to save Nemo, so he goes.
Meeting the Mentor- The mentor is Dory. She is a "trickster" mentor. She teaches Marlin through humor. Marlin needs to learn how to not be afraid. He also needs to learn how to let go and believe.
Crossing the Threshold- He swims after the boat. He is in the open ocean and he hasn't done this since his wife was eaten by the shark.
Tests, Allies, and Enemies- The Sharks at the meeting where they're trying to stop eating fish - sharks are enemies who say they're friends.
Dory - Friend that gets in the way; kind of smart and kind of stupid
Crush - the turtle helps travel through the current; showed him your kids have a way to come back without your help
The Fishes - that make the pictures
Darla - threatens Nemo
The Whale - the whale is a test - Dory tells Marlin to "just let go" and "just keep swimming". When Marlin lets go, they get blown out the spout and things work out.
Approach of the Inmost Cave- Nemo does this when he has to get out or go with Darla. Maybe Marlin when he tells Dory to go away. 
The Ordeal- Marlin returns to save Dory from the jellies. The jellyfish stings make him look dead, but he recovers and meets Crush, the turtle, who is 150 but acts young. Marlin is able to go through the current. 
Reward- With the Pelican's help, Marlin gets to the dentist's office. He thinks Nemo is dead and the dentist throws the pelican out. Marlin ends up back in the sea. Nemo goes down the drain and out to the ocean. Dory finds Nemo. Marlin gets Nemo back. 
Road Back- Dory gets caught in the net. Nemo wants to help get her out. Marlin doesn't want to lose Nemo again, but he lets Nemo go. Using what he learned from Gil, Nemo saves Dory and all the other fish.  
Resurrection- It looks like Nemo is dead, but he is alive. 
Return with Elixir- Marlin returns home with Nemo. He lets Nemo go to school. Marlin is able to live a life that is happier.

Deacon the Villian, Mr. Raw, and Jugga the Bully are thugs, and according to them they have been since they were cub scouts. From being the line leaders to not having any fear of teachers, these guys were straight up G’s.  You mess with them and you will get hurt.

As Hailie gets older, she notices her father, Eminem, is gone more and more and not spending as much time with his family as he should. She cries to him and begs him to stay home from a concert in Sweden. Eminem doesn't listen to her and goes to the concert to perform for his fans. What Eminem doesn't know is that Hailie follows him to the concert and confronts him there.

Mockingbird- Eminem
Eminem, the father, explains to his two kids, Hailie and Laney, why life is the way it is. Why their mother left, why they live where they live, why he raps, and he also promises them he will always be there. He explains to them that everything happens for a reason and that he's not going to let anything happen to them.

Just Me and My B***- Biggie Smalls
Biggie Smalls finds his dream girl and marries her. They live together through life in New York City. They are happy together until one day his wife is killed. The death makes Biggie Smalls very sad.

Love the Way You Lie- Eminem feat. Rihanna
Eminem and Rihanna's relationship is a dysfunctional one, and Eminem tells the story about that. They are always fighting, and then loving, and just going back and forth. They can't decide what they want out of themselves or each other. Eminem threatens Rihanna throughout the whole song on what he'll do if she leaves him.

Same Girl- R Kelly and Usher
R Kelly and Usher are telling each other about their girlfriends. Their going through descriptions of each until they eventually find that it is the same girl they are describing. They try to come up with a plan to trick this girl into meeting them both in the same place. It doesn't show or say this in the song, but in the video it turns out that they aren't dating the same girl, but identical twins.

When I'm Gone- Eminem

Lyrics

Plot- Eminem's daughter, Hailie, is complaing to her dad about how he is always gone away from the family and how he loves rapping more than he loves her and her mom. Eminem throughout the song is trying to explain to her why he works so hard on rapping and why he is gone all the time. In the third verse of the song Eminem has a show in Sweden and Hailie follows him there.

Character- Eminem, Hailie, Kim, fans at the concert.

Conflict- Hailie has a problem with Eminem being gone all the time is the main conflict.

Theme- At the end of the song Eminem wakes up and it was all a dream. The dream was a warning to him that if he kept on living the way he was, he wouldn't necessarily shoot himself like he does in his dream but he would have a hard time with his daughter and family. I think what the theme is be with your family as much as you can, because if you don't there will be problems.

Setting- Three different settings in this song. The first one is at Eminem's house. The second one is at the concert in Sweden. And the third one is at Eminem's house once more.

Impulse II

A family of three makes their up a snowy canyon to their cabin. The roads are slick and the snow is coming down hard. The dad is driving as if it’s a clear sunny day, the pregnant mother is sitting in the front worried sick that they’re going to crash. Their five year old son sits in the back watching a movie. Suddenly, the car starts to slide a little…

                                     

Mom: You need to slow down! You’re going to kill all of us!

Dad: Settle down we’ll be fine, I’ve been driving in this all my life.

Mom: Don’t tell me to settle down, you settle down your driving!

Dad: We’ll be fine we’re almost there. Just a few more minutes.

Mom: It’s not a matter of when we get there, it’s IF we get there.

Dad: Oh please. We’ll get there.

Mom: Why are you so stubborn? Would it hurt to slow down just a little?

Dad: I’m not the stubborn one! Yes, it would hurt.

Mom: Well suck it up and slow down!

Dad: You know, you’re the one that’s going to make me crash unless you stop bothering me. I need to pay attention.

Mom: No kidding, and go slower.

(car slides a little again.)

Mom: Slow down!

Dad: What?

Mom: Go slower!

Dad: (laughing) faster??

Mom: You’re pathetic.

Silence….

Mom: If you’re not going to slow down, you let me out and I’m walking the rest of the way.

Dad: (takes his eyes off the road and looks at her in disbelief)

(car slides off the road)

Dad: (after they’re stuck on the side of the road) see I told you that you were going to distract me!
